A Place Worth Preserving…
The Whitehurst-Buffington House will be restored and preserved as a living example of Virginia life in 18th and 19th centuries and as a tribute to the Whitehurst family.
With the help of archeologists and historians, the area will be studied and researched for its historical significance. But this will also be a gathering place – a place for families to celebrate, explore, play, and picnic.
The house and surrounding property will serve as a conservation and historical center for the enjoyment and education of future generations.
